Registration Help

To register for your version of MyWritingLab, you will need:

A student access code The code is packaged with your textbook, or available for purchase on this Web site with a major credit card. (Return to the MyWritingLab home page and click Students in the "Register or Buy Access" box.) You can also check with your bookstore to purchase a standalone access card. Your unique code will look something like this:
SMPLE – FRILL – TONLE – WEIRS - CHOIR – FLEES
A valid email account Tip: use an account you'll keep for the duration of your course.
Author, title, edition, and publisher of your textbook. You can generally find this information on the first few pages of your book. Ask your instructor if you are unsure.
The version of MyWritingLab your instructor is using. Ask your instructor if you are unsure. If you select E-book Version, carefully select the author and title.

How to register a student access code

Return to the MyWritingLab home page.
In the "Register or Buy Access" box, click Students.
Click I already have an access code.
Click I accept after reading the Pearson License Agreement and Privacy Policy.
Do you have a Pearson Education account?
- If Yes – fill in your username and password (TIP! Choosing Yes and using your existing account will allow you to use the same username and password you use for your other Pearson products)
- If No – Create a username and password per the guidelines provided.
- If Not Sure – Enter your email address and click Search.
Check or enter required information in the appropriate fields.
Review and print your Confirmation and Summary page (a confirmation will also be sent to your email address). TIP! Be sure to take note of your username and password—write them down or save them on your computer in a place you will not forget.

Getting Started

Once you have registered, you can login and begin using MyWritingLab!

How to log in

Return to the MyWritingLab home page.
In the "Returning Users" box, click Log In.
Follow the on-screen steps, and enter your Login name and Password in the Fields provided.
Click Login.

To join a course

Log in following the instructions above.
Click Join a Course.
Click Join your instructor's course.
If your instructor gave you a Course ID, type the Course ID into the field provided and click Submit (TIP! Course IDs are case-sensitive) OR Search for your course by your Instructor’s last name, course name or school name (TIP! Make sure you have the correct spelling)
Select your course from the options provided and click Continue.
Click the Start Working button, or access the "How do I used MyWritingLab?" User Guide.
